Spain - A Road to Salvation - Photos 1

On day one in St Jean Pied de Port, France - fresh shaven heads, no idea of the enormity of what we were about to undertake (or at least I didnt..!).

Joe (Ireland) and Kitty (America)

A beautiful forest we passed through going over the Pyrenees.

In Flanders Fields where the Poppies grow...

Passing through Pamplona on the last day of San Fermin. Drunk people feeling the effects of 7 days of partying were strewn across flights of stairs.

Sunrises were aplenty. The pilgrims way was to 'sleep during the night and walk by day', so we saw few sunsets.

A piece of artwork on top of a hill. Wind turbines are a common sight on the hillsides of Spain as it is a prominent source of power for them.

It was Andys 19th birthday (foreground left)

Drinking out of a wine fountain at 6.07am. Yes it was a bit early, so I emtied out my vitamins and used the tiny jar to hold about 150ml of wine, of which I ended up drinking about 1.5 weeks later. Yum...

Haystacks.

Hey hey its Marre (Holland)! We started walking with this girl day two, saw her along the way a lot and finished the same day over a month on.

On top of the belltower of an Opus Dei church in Logrono. Amazing standout experience. Also sneakily in the background is Leonore (Spanish, sorry for the spelling..)

Brid (Ireland) and (Greg) walking out of Santo Domingo.

Brid, my hand carved staff which I left behind only two days on and myself.

Brid and I in some wind and rain.

Poppies, Wheat Fields and Blue skies.

Burgos Cathedral

You should know these two mugs by now...

The Meseta, all three pics.

Anthony and Tinka (Germany)

Lone Tree Standing at St Nicholas

Drinking in the barmans own cellar in the side of a hill at St Nicholas, not a bad drop at all!

More Meseta. Mind altering.

Leon Cathedral, where theres so much stainglass windows that the structure has been compromised...! Its amazing. Definately a stand out church.

Me and a big dump truck. Its HUGEEEE
